Guest guest
I've had 2 colonoscopies. It's not that bad because you're knocked out. The preperation is the worse part. I'm also had a sigmoidoscopy. That, I hated. You're awake for that, not fun at all. I wish you well, you'll be fine. It's not that bad. -
Guest guest
Hi Pris, A sigmoidoscopy is also a procedure to look in the colon, but the 'equipment' doesn't go as far in, so doesn't look as far up the colon. Since it doesn't go in as far, you aren't sedated for the procedure, although you still have to do the enemas in advance to try to clean things out. I had one this summer - it wasn't fun at all because (at least for me) it built up a tremendous amount of gas in the intestines. After they let me go I spent a good 45 minutes in the bathroom at the medical building farting out all of the gas that had built up before I could drive home. Guest guest
A sigmoidoscopy is similar to the colonoscopy only it's in the lower part of the large intestines, not as far as the colonoscopy. That's not pleasant at all! You can feel it and it's just terribly humiliating!
