tingling and colonoscopies

I spoke to the doctor covering for my Rheum. about if the tingling and pain in

my hands and feet could be RA, he thinks its a nerve thing. My neurologist

thinks its an RA thing! Arrggh! I had been taking Neurontin for nerve pain in

hips and thighs and was stepping down from it because I thought I was just

getting better on my own. The sub. Rheum. says to try to up the Neurontin

again. I don't know, no matter what anyone says I think its Rheumatological, I

have swelling. I have also been having a flare-up of Costochondritis.

I'm new so I don't know who's getting a Colonoscopy but I have ulcerative

colitis too so I have had a lot of them. A few tips, even though you can eat a

normal lunch the day before, I would suggest eating lighter because its only

going to make the prep worse if you have more food in you! The prep is

definitely the worst part! Also, if you are a woman who is on the young side or

on the thin side, I would request having an Anesthesiologist present who can

give you real anesthesia. Sometimes young, thin women have a hard time

being sedated comfortably with the drugs the GI docs are allowed to give and

may need something stonger.
