TK--- This may cause some problems as both DMSA and ALA normally

require breaks and should not be used continuously. Normally

according to protocol DMSA and ALA round length should not exceed two

weeks. is using DMPS which can be used continuously, his

experience with both continuously is somewhat unique as is each

person. The need for Supplementation of vitamins and minerals in

general is continuous, some people will need more or less than others

and different supplements to address different problems. also

had Lyme which may effect things in diffferent ways. I am sure he

will respond with his thoughts.

TK--- The 25mg is a reduction from what he was chealting with when he

had symptoms I believe.

TK--- I chelate with ALA 75mg & DMPS 40mg but in rounds of 5 -7 days

as I have found if I go longer [right now] I start to have problems.

Things change as you progress though as when I started I could not

domore than 12.5mg of either for more than 3-4 days.

TK,

How many months have you been chelating?

TK--- off and on for a few years depending on DMPS availability,

regularly through 2005 as I was able to get an ongoing rx for the

dmps through .

TK,

You are right. I am feeling much more realistic at the moment

because I am not feeling well today. I think my over-optimism

in believing I can find a way to chelate all the time might

also be viewed as a symptom. I might change my mind tomorrow,

though. I'm going to have to figure out a way to maintain good

judgment throughout this process.

,

Have you found your iron levels are depleted even more with DMSA?

I'm sure this is happening with me. Presumably as it affects

neutrophils. Its concerning me. I find I crave really high mineral

foods which I know is a general mineral craving but also a craving for

iron. I'm concerned about getting too depleted.

Ok thanks.

Yes thats what I meant, but I'm not sure of the mechanism! Though I

just checked the results of my last full blood count and my

neutrophils seem to be at ok levels so not sure about this now!

Do you get them checked just through a normal blood count?

Thanks,

Anne

The proper test that includes neutrophils is a CBC w/differential.
