Guest guest
Barb: Signing all those papers may take courage, and I found myself crying more than I thought I would. This was especially hard last week when Ken developed another UTI, and the nurse helped me not to panic and make them give him antibiotics. The amazing thing is that his fever went down, and he seems comfortable without the medication. They are giving him pyridium to help with bladder spasms but it turns his urine bright orange and also the UTI strips so we can't test to see if the infection is still there. He was going from yeast infections to UTI's and back again. Right now he has no yeast infection and if he has a UTI, it is not bothering him. Our son and his family are here from Japan until Monday, and then we shall see if his improvement continues. The people from Hospice say that he might be holding on for this visit. Whatever happens, I am much more at peace with Ken, myself and most im! portantly, with my God. In my heart, I am feeling good about not allowing any more heavy duty treatment. Ken has been a wonderful husband and is loved by many people he deserves to leave us with some modicum of dignity. Thank-you for understanding.
