Guest guest
I haven't tried Humira and didn't have stinging with Enbrel, but Kineret can really sting - especially if it isn't all the way up to room temperature. Since I don't always remember to take it out of the fridge early it's usually cold. I actually do it faster to get it over with instead of taking a long time. I've heard it helps to use ice to numb the area before you inject, but I haven't tried that. Beth > Humira really stings, too. But I just take a really long time in injecting > it. Guest guest
YES - YES- YES, I had my first 50 mg shot today and I cried in pain. It stung really bad. I checked on this group right now to see if anyone else had the same experience. I have 3 months worth of the CRAP in my refrigerator and I refuse to take it. I can't believe how much it hurt. I called Enbrel and they are going to try and send me the 25 mg injections instead. We'll see how it goes. That shot was really bad! - --- In Rheumatoid Arthritis , Rie <ravencache@y...> wrote: > I know someone who's tried the 1x/wk shot of enbrel, > and she said it REALLY stung. Guest guest
Enbrel can be unrefrigerated for up to 24 hours - ask the Enbrel nurse! I let my 25 mg injections out to room temp. for 30 minutes but the 50 mg. one today I left out for 2 hours and it burns worse than anything I've ever felt. So room temperature is not the key - it still hurts! - > > > Humira really stings, too. But I just take a > > really long time in injecting > > it. Guest guest
, Have you taken the new 50 mg dose? I am sensitive to Enbrel anyhow - I get bad injection site reactions to the 25 mg injection and have to have it injected in my arm as my abdomen and legs have worse reactions. I guess my tissues are sensitive. But the 50 mg shot that I got yesterday (in my arm) burned like hell. It was injected slowly but I couldn't hack it. I could feel it burning up and down my arm as it spread. It was too painful, IMO. After my experience yesterday I checked out a bunch of online groups and forums and lots of people say the same thing. Enbrel nurses couldn't tell me anything but they are going to replace my unused 50 mg injections with 2 -25 mg ones instead. Thank God. I wish you all well. I'd like to hear how your experiences have been with the new 50 mg. dose. - > Enbrel doesn't sting when I take it. ~ >
