Guest guest
Kay-Lynn, Dr Bock treats at the Rhinebeck Institute in Rhinebeck NY. His practice is geared towards children- mostly ASD, Asthma, ADHD, Allergies what he refers to as the new epidemic. He treats IBD as well as other things with an integrative approach. He is not a GI. Guest guest
Hi Jodi, Shortly after I was first diagnosed with CD in 1999, I began seeing Dr. n who is in the same practice as Dr. Present. I went to the practice for 2 or 3 years during which time I was hospitalized at Mt. Sinai for almost 3 weeks (shortly after I started with them, not due to anything they did). I did have one experience with Dr. Present when he performed a small intestine barium milkshake xray procedure. Nothing much to report there...a relatively quick procedure. My overall experience with Dr. n was that it was all about the drugs (he had me on prednasone, cipro, and imuran) and not about nutrition at all. I believe Dr. n was head of the CCFA back then. At the time I asked for and he referred me to a nutritionist, and looking back on that visit from an SCD vantage point, it was totally useless. So it has been a while since I was there, so things my have changed, but my sense is that they wouldn't necessarily be SCD friendly. HTH! Guest guest
I heard Dr. Present speak as part of a panel. Not only is he not pro-scd--he is anti-scd!! He claimed the diet was very good--for Elaine Gottschall in that it made her rich! He pushes 6-mp and other meds, Peggie > > >

Guest guest
I am so tired of all of these doctors and trying to find the -right- doctors. I was told that Dr Present is a supporter of the SCD and has an alternative outlook for a conventional GI. I think all of this running around, doing various tests and finding doctors is taking years off of my life. I am so tired and I feel I have no mental fortitude or emotional clarity to do things like communicate with fellow human beings.. Finding myself just despondent not even capable of like replying to emails. Let alone other humanly things. This diet though makes me happy. Going to the Green Market makes me happy. Maybe I should just abandon all of the above and just do the diet? The exhaustion I am experiencing today is like a setback. I think it is stress induced from all of this running around. Obviously, it is good to peel this dang onion and find out all these various layers of my sickness.. As of late, it looks like I have Lyme Disease (Quest came back that it is high and inconclusive- in that I need to do more testing. I showed it to my regular internist today and he said " you're so sick you're antibodies are out of wack so it is not a surprise- but Jodi according to this you have Lyme Disease " What does this even mean? ARGH. Apparently, there are many false positives and false negatives. This could explain some of my symptoms though- that is why they checked it at the on Center. On top of that it looks like I am dealing with this underlying C Diff issue (had different parasitology testing) and Candida Albicans (Uhh Shocker? heh buh!) I am so confused, some of these really great doctors don't even know how to deal with all of this.. I mean how much research do I need to do? This isn't even including other testing I need to do. So many people from various lists have been so incredibly gracious in emailing me, advising me, supporting me and encouraging me. Bless all of you for your constant guidance and good energy. It really lifts me and elevates my spirit. I do not know what I would do without all of you! Thanks for reading..
