Thankyou for you reassurance My GP is quite relaxed about it but it would nice to know what the surgeon thinks So I'll do what you suggest

Guest guest
check-out the postings of Isara on this subject on this forum. she had something similar and got it under control with antibiotics. Infection Four weeks after my resurfacing operation when all seemed to be going well I have developed an infection in the operation wound. It appears to be in soft tissue near the surface covering about quarter of an inch long. It is being treated with penicillin and something else. I have a normal temperature. Has this happened to anyone else? Is there a risk of infection spreading to the resurfaced joint? Noel

I had two rounds of antibiotics and kept it slathered in betadine and bandaged until it was completely healed. Any time there is infection anywhere in the body there is a chance (however slight) of it getting into the new joint. I haven't heard of anyone having a resurfaced joint removed because of infection though...

Guest guest
Hi, Noel I had the same thing but it happened about 8 weeks after surgery. I had four antibiotic injections and then antibiotic capsules for 10 days - cleared it right up. You probably won't have any problems as long as you keep on with the antibiotics until the infection is completely cleared up. Good luck! Guest guest
Yes, I had quite a time of it.....I recommend you read my posts: 8443, 8554, 8965, 9744, and 9862 to read my saga over the course of about week 2 to week 10. My GP recommended that I see an OS, who knows what to look for in the incision. Dr. Schmalzreid certainly gave me a lot of answers, and is very acute at diagnosis. Both pre and post op. Good luck to you. I took on a combo of approaches. If you want more personal info, please email me. Guest guest
Hi! Keep the faith. Although most of my son's fistula healed on SCD there was a tiny opening that gave him problems at times. It finally healed after 5 years! Take care, PatPsssst...Have you heard the news? There's a new fashion blog, plus the latest fall trends and hair styles at StyleList.com.
Guest guest
Well, even SCD won't give us perfect health and immunity Good diet, though, does keep infections in check, though, and like you say, your body has done that by limiting the infection's spread.SCD will fortify our bodies, but we are still human and will certainly get sick and even die, so I would just say it's par for the human course. That said, there are legal enhancements of the typical SCD program that can boost our immunity, etc. For examples: daily bone broths; 45-80% of our diet as veggies; juicing; eating according to the body's daily detox cycle; etc. But again, even doing all that will not prevent all issues. Finally, some view symptoms as healing signs. As the healing goes deeper, more is released from the body, resulting in transitional manifestations.Baden What i dont understand is I follow the SCD to the T. Why did I get it?Been on SCD 4 years and dont stray from it. Everyone says the SCd gets the body better on it, well I have never been off of it. I only have one small boil and it has stayed there, and not branched out to any other place, thank god._
Guest guest
SCD helps us restore out gut ecology, which generally improves our overall health. But it can't " fix " everything, nor block viral or bacterial infections, or stop the deterioration of our bodies due to age and other conditions. I've been on SCD for more than 5 years, and improved tremendously, yet at year 2 (just when I felt my digestion was as good as it could be) I started developing neurological deterioration that is ongoing. I don't blame SCD for that, the problem is with my physiology. I'm just grateful that my digestion is working reasonably well so I can cope with the neurological stuff. Kim M.
