Guest guest
Yes. Most of the time this combination of symptoms hits me just after a bowel movement. I've done a little reading on this trying to find out why, and have some ideas but don't know for sure. Sometimes my body will also react this way as part of an immune response to a food; just as the waves of nausea, heat and fatigue start easing I'll break out in hives. And, I often get these combination of symptoms when my electrolytes and/or blood sugar levels crash. But the difference in this case is that my body doesn't recover on its own, I have to eat something or drink an electrolyte drink. Have you been able to connect these symptoms with a certain food or drink? Or time of day? Guest guest
thanks Kim - I had just started eating when it happened but i eat the same stuff day in day out so I don't think it was that - it did remind me of a dip in blod sugar I used to get when hypoglycemic but I was eating so that makes no sense???? I'm guessing hormonal as period came today???? still light-headed on/off too - see doc the 23rd thanks eileen > > Yes. Guest guest
You might read about dumping syndrome. A lot of people in my gastroparesis support group have this issue. I was going to mention it in my earlier email but thought I didn't need to go into too much detail [grin]. But the symptoms with dumping syndrome are very similar to what you describe, especially if it's happening when you just start eating. Here's a link to the Mayo Clinic's description: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/dumping-syndrome/DS00715 At any rate, definitely something to ask your doctor about.
