Guest guest
Hi Sandy. I'm on Methotrexate and Remicade and they work well for me with no noticeable side effects. I do read a lot about people who have digestion problems or mouth sores with Methotrexate but I also hear that by taking Folic Acid and/or Leucovorin in large enough amounts it can reduce the side effects greatly. Also injections seem to have fewer side effects than the pills. I hope something works for you to make you better. God bless. ----- Original Message ----- From: beacon348 Rheumatoid Arthritis Sent: Friday, January 14, 2005 3:34 PM Subject: hello new to group in PA Hello, I have had RA since I was 20 now 48,I am on Humira and the rheumy wants me to starttaking MTX not happy about it. Guest guest
Sandy, I believe that our hormones are tied into this thing, too. I also have been dealing with menopause and finally found some relief with bio-identical hormones. My doc prescribes compounded combination of progesterone, the good estriol, and testosterone and it has worked for me. This is not synthetic hormones like most of the GYN's hand out. Hot flashes are gone and all the other horrible things. It worked for me. Guest guest
-Hello, well I guess I will have to try the MTX. But what else can I do? I don't want to wind not being able to do anything. I see my rheumatologist next week and I will ask about the Leucovorin and the folic acid maybe that will help. Did you lose any hair or any thing like that? Guest guest
Sandy, I am still on anti-inflammatory and some supplements. I have joint damage on right hand and crooked toes but am very functional and working fulltime. My body was just too sensitive for all the strong meds. I am fair-skin and redhead with tons of determination. Ha! Best to you, Kay ----- Original Message ----- From: " beacon348 " <beacon348@...> <Rheumatoid Arthritis > Sent: Thursday, January 20, 2005 9:52 AM Subject: Re: hello new to group in PA > > > Hello that is great I will have to ask about that. > Did your RA symptoms improve also?
