Guest guest
Hi, I have been on SCD since 2006. I love it. My IBS and gluten intolerance loves SCD. The best part for me about SCD is the fact the dairy is allowed. I am very lactose intolerant and spent years without cheese and yogurt. Last month, my blood work showed very low levels of iron. My doctor prescribed 325 mg of the cheapest iron supplements for me. I was taking 2 pills a day. I never checked what was in the pills. After about three weeks I was up about 8 pounds in abdominal swelling. I stopped the iron pills after getting the full list of ingredients in the pills. I am a mess. I cannot eat dairy at all now and I cannot seem to digest fat either. My weight won't go down to 160 lb, I am stuck at 175 lb. Plus I have a new abdominal swelling, right below the rib cage, I look pregnant with this soft ridge of fat sticking out. I found legal iron pills with only 25 mg of iron so I take three a day. I now take the Digest Gold and Lypo Gold from Enzymedica. I also take valerian, fish oil caps, cinnamon, vitamin K, and L-glutamine but I was careful to avoid illegals. Should I have the claritin and benadryl compounded for me? These pill do contain illegals, but I can't survive without my allergy meds. Is this very expensive? I am going to see my doctor next week, I need my thyroid rechecked to get refills on my meds plus I want to have my lipase and amylase levels checked too. I can't seem to digest even legal foods very well. I won't eat cheese or yogurt anymore at least for a month to see if this helps. I am eating the most advanced stage of foods. SCD beans 1/2 cup a day, spinach salad 4 times a week, and almond muffins once a day. What stage should I go back to? I hate being all swollen. Do I need to stop the iron pills? HELP, I am student teaching right now and I need to feel well and look decent!
