Guest guest
Related to this topic - my son is just about to try nuts again. He has a pack of dry ground pecans from Digestive Wellness, and wants to turn this in to pecan butter. Should he just mix the ground pecans with some melted butter and then refrigerate, or should he use an oil and if so which one? Thanks to anyone who can help. Guest guest
I like Spectrum's Walnut oil for nutbutters. And a little bit of salt. Pecans grind out really fast. They are also good if you toast them a little bit before processing. Guest guest
Hi Kathy. What kind of food processor do you have? My new Cuisinart 14-cup food processor has a very powerful motor. It can grind 1/2 pound raw pecans into nut butter in about 3 minutes. My much older and much less powerful food processor would have taken about 15 minutes. I don't add any oil, so I get pecan butter that is more dense than commercially prepared nut butter. Sorry I couldn't reply to you yesterday.
