I'm not evacuating. I live right outside of Baton Rouge. It doesn't flood here so as long as we don't get tornadoes, we'll be ok. We have never evacuated for a hurricane. Mostly we just loose electricity for a week or so (that is how it was in the case of , Katrina, Rita and a couple others I can't remember the name). I have canned tuna a pineapples, pork skins, and some raw fruit that won't spoil too fast (apples and oranges) oh and 1 pack of jerky. No, shelters get whatever they can from whoever they can. Back in 96 some tornadoes ripped through and Denham and the high school was turned into a shelter. I worked at Mc's at the time. There are 2 in Denham. Both Mc's sent 300 hamburgers to the shelter and they weren't made any special kind of way. So, I doubt very seriously that they would accomodate ANY special diet.

I'm in Houston. Not sure where it's going. Have canned sardines,

peaches, frozen cracker dough that needs to be cooked, salmon and tuna

individual pop top lids. Making chicken soup and yogurt today to put

in insulated bags with the blue ice packs. Also probiotics just in

case. Lots of water. Not sure what else. Stocked up last time so

should be fine. Not evacuating to leave town. Also, individual

bottles of white Welche's grape juice.
