Guest guest
Hi-- I do not post much but reallyneed your help! My daughter Kyli has een on SCD for 8 months. we did NOT intor the yogurt and opted for the probio's in capsules for fear of the casein/whey issues. It seems as thought Kyli's gut had improved as she stopped throwing up every meal. We have been inthe hospitla 11 times in 16 months due to seizures correlated w/ gut stress. We beleive some of that could be the " die off " . we just introduced the yogurt at the end of July starting with 1/4 tsp up to 1/4 cup. Each time we upped it we'd see an increase of gas for a day or 2 and then be okay. She was doing fine-- and snagged a Resp. virus 12 days ago. It may have been triggere by an allergic response. We use an Applied Kinnesiologist (AK) who has determined that the homemade yogurt does not test like it is causing allergy. Through AK We also have determined that 1oz (1TBSP) of this Homemade yogurt is equal to once capsule of probiotics. So we have adjust accordingly. Just this week we have gone from 3TBSP to 4 TBSP of yogurt. EIher- she has a virus and the yogurt is irritating the mucous- as dairy is mucous producing. OR the Yogurt is causing an allergy. What exactly is a flair up. I am sure it is unique to each. Does it accompany a virus, or can a virus trigger it. Red gums, Horrific gas. Toxic poops. When we were in the ER on 8/25 Kyli had a BM and the nurse comment that thy had never had an adult stink the ER out they way my little 30lb child did. IS THIS MORE DIE OFF? She ran a temperature last night just before liminating the clear mucous. Then the temp went down. Prior to releasing she had seizure activity and a " croupy " breathing. She was very stressed. Durring our 11 hospital stays the last 16 months it is always bowels - pain triggering severe 3-5 hour seizures. Seizures stop after bowels are relieved. BM Always followed by another BM of mucous. Blood labs always suggest VIRUS. Does anyone know if flair-ups look like a virus in blood labs? Stool analysis always come back normal regardless of the stenc. (Metametrics confirmed weak GI Immunity) Trying to determine the difference btwn a flair up and something else. Can a virus trigger a flair up? Dr.'s say that Viruses can cause irritation in a weak spot. Some kids get ear aches or asthma- Kyli gets the gut reaction. But is the so called virus really a virus or is it a flair up? Or is is possibly having an allergic reaction to the yogurt? Any help would be much appreciated! Jodi A. Just repost what you sent here. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/pecanbread/ You need to go through the process of joining this group like you did with BTVC-SCD.
