Guest guest
I was wondering if this idea of a healing crisis applies to trying new foods? Since needing to restart the SCD and the stages I find -anything- new I try causes initial problems. The severity of the problems vary but it doesn't seem like any food goes easy except for the squash family for me and meats and fish. I am wondering if this is how it works with a diseased gut that sometimes the body needs to get used to or like recognize a food and after the initial symptoms of feeling bad it dissipates? This is stopping me from like trying new foods. I think it is very important I try and get some green vegetable in on a regular basis. Everyone has been commenting on my looking pale again (this could be because of my period? I am feeling much better though!) I am just worried that I am not getting enough vitamins and some kind of green would do me good. Not sure which. Guest guest
Jodi Aren't you also dealing with a candida overgrowth? My experience has been that my food sensitivities and really bad digestive reactions disappeared over time as I dealt with my systemic candida overgrowth. In other words, when my candida levels were the highest, my body reacted badly to everything I swallowed, so it was difficult to know which foods were worse than others. As I applied candida elimination strategies to my food choices, and slowly starved out the candida, I was able to eat more foods successfully. Took time, though. And I still have to be somewhat vigilant about the candida-trigger-foods. That comes with having chronic digestive disorders. If you're like me in having functional digestive disorders, it means that you can have more severe symptoms at times, because there are other processes at work. I can have the same combination of meats and veggies one day with little reaction and a week later eat the same combination and suffer severe symptoms. I just accept it as part of having a chronic condition, especially when another deteriorating body system is my metabolism and nervous system. In other words, some days your food choices don't make any difference. Wish I knew the answers for you. Kim M. > > I was wondering if this idea of a healing crisis applies to trying new > foods?
