Guest guest
Just to chime in here, you have to read the label. the baon I buy has no sugar, but it's not advertised as NO SUGAR bacon, it just doesn't have it. kayWhen you row another person across the river, you get there yourself..- Fortune cookieSubject: Where to buy sugar free baconTo: BTVC-SCD Date: Thursday, September 4, 2008, 8:53 AM Most urban centers in the USA have British Food Shops. In the freezer you will find Irish Bacon. No sugar. It doesn't look like american bacon because it's made from the loin rather than the belly of the pig. It tastes better. The shop may be called International Foods or something similar, for example, I was in Hyannis on Cape Cod last month and I saw Irish bacon in a Caribbean food shop. If you want to make your own bacon and you live in Southern California I recommend 99 Ranch Market (a chain of 12 stores) for your pork belly. It's an amazing store. Guest guest
Safeway-owned stores (including Vons in Southern California) carry a store brand of low-sodium bacon that is also sugar-free. There have been a number of SCDers over the years who have eaten that bacon without any problems. I eat it every few weeks or so.
