Guest guest
JAH, you use it in the SCD recipes that call for DCCC Dry curd cottage cheese.. and yes you can make cheesecake out of it. The recipe is in the book. (smile) Kay-lynn > > Here in Eugene at MOC (delta) they ordered us this cheese. It is 7.5 oz for $3.99 > Now what do I do with it now that I have it? Guest guest
Hi, First time posting a message in this group, hope I am doing it properly, forgive me and correct me if I am not. I just bought Friendship Farmers cheese at Sprouts here in Phoenix and it was 4.45 for the 7.5oz. I was sickened by the price, but there are alot of recipes that use it. I wonder, does the dripped yogurt recipe substitute this cheese? DCCC is impossible to find here, so Farmers it is for now. I hope making my own will work. -Marc > > Here in Eugene at MOC (delta) they ordered us this cheese. It is 7.5 oz for $3.99 > Now what do I do with it now that I have it? DCCC isn't even available in the UK, Nor was it available in New Orleans for the long end of forever -- I'd been SCD for four years before I found a semi-local source. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund

Guest guest
> > > I thought farmer's cheese was DCCC? > Suzanne > It's either the same as DCCC or it can be interchanged for. I cannot tolerate fermented foods (homemade yougurt) so have substituted the Farmer's cheese and have had good results. The cheese processes smoothly with an electric mixer, food processor or blender (especially when processed with eggs). I add a glob of it to my scrambled eggs and pancakes for the protein & bulk and wherever yogurt is called for in baked goods, I substitute this cheese. I can only get this at Whole Foods, however, by calling some of the other area grocery stores in Maine, they've told me they carry Friendship Farmer's cheese around the Holidays. I'll be keeping an eye out to see if it's less expensive than at Whole foods. One pound for $7.
