Guest guest
Hi all, I know this has probably been asked before...everytime 2 carriers have a baby there is a 25% chance that it will have cf and with every pregnancy this 25% chance holds true....is there anything that influences it....how is it possible for someone to have 7 children and the 8th has cf...or for someone to have 4 children and all 4 have cf...is it really just chance or does something else come into play? The reason I'm asking is that we've just found out that we are expecting our 2nd child. Our little girl has cf and I am just about a nervous wreck whilst waiting for them to do the test and get the results Please can someone shed some light!!! Regards, Karolina (Mum to w/cf)
Guest guest
Hi Karolina, Congratulations for the pregnancy !!!! Yes we discussed this issue lately. It is true that it looks unfair that some parents have more than one Cfer and there are probably other Cf carrier parents who will never know the luck they had not having Cf children. Maybe there ARE some factors that influence this.. but unfortunately nobody knows about it :-(( So we unfortunately just have to rely on odds... I guess you will have a CVS performed ? I know perfectly how the waiting feels. I've been through this twice... first time the fetus had Cf and I aborted and the second one.. yeah !! I am still carrying him.. I am 4 1/2 months pregnant. But I would never want to go through this anymore. I wish you a lot of courage and patience and of course ... lots of luck !! , mOm to Leo, 2 y wcf -----Message d'origine----- De : karolinab@...
