Guest guest
Okay, since " spirituality " seems to be such a vague concept, I have attempted to define it for myself. I may be defining another word, I don't know. It was rather difficult to come up with this: SPIRITUALITY: n. The pursuit of an emotional state of optimism about and enthusiasm for all of life and existence, characterized by curiosity, hope, creativity, general happiness, clarity of mind, and an overall lack of emotional dependence upon material objects above and beyond the necessities of life and basic comfort (e.g., food, water, shelter, sex [for some]). This pursuit often leads to a desire to do what's best for one's self and others (but never to the detriment of one's self). It is not dependent upon a specific concept of, or empirical evidence supporting the existence of, a deity, or as some might say, a " higher power " . Not to be confused with martyrdom or phony altruism. All right, that was the best I could do right now. Later, Holly
