Guest guest
Jodi, I can't remember if you've tried Kirkman's non-dairy acidophilus or not. So far that's the only one I'm trying. I don't take it every day, and when I do, I can take 1/2 capsule now. I tried a whole capsule last week and the nausea just about blew me away. [but I'd had an IV of glutathione and minerals the day before, so maybe I'll try again sometime.] Do make sure you take probiotics with a meal? I think they are easier to tolerate then. all the best, Louise MCS, ME/CFS, FM--severely ill since 1973 food sensitivities and candida scd--Feb. 25/08 Vancouver Island, BC, Canada ------------------- Now I am trying the S Boulardii. I took about a 1/5 of a capsule and I feel exhausted and I feel crampy like uncomfortable.
Guest guest
Hi Louise, I never thought about doing it for myself! Thanks for the advice. Do you know what the S Boulardii from GI Prohealth is sourced from? Thanks, Jodi SCD 11 months Crohn's/Colitis > > Jodi, > > I can't remember if you've tried Kirkman's non-dairy > acidophilus or not. Guest guest
Hi Jodi I replied to your question in the other SCD group, but thought I should ask my two questions again in this group, in case it might help someone who has similar issues. Are you taking the probiotics with food, at the end of a meal? And when are you taking them? I have found that I need to take probiotics (and other supplements) with food, at the end of a meal. And the time of day is critical as well. And how often I take something has an impact on my body's reactions to probiotics and supplements. My routine maintenance dose of probiotics is only one capsule of acidophilus every 3rd or 4th day. It's the only thing I can tolerate in the morning, as long as I take it at the end of my breakfast. All my other supplements are taken at midday or after supper, at the end of a meal. With the exception of electrolyte drinks, which I can have at any time of day or night, and on an empty stomach -- as long as there isn't too much salt or other minerals in the drink (I dilute everything significantly!)
