Hi yes i sympathize with your problem I have a 10cm fibroid and others and

for the last year at least i have a constant discharge and the doc says its

due to the mass in the uterus and its all connected somehow, I am scheduled

for a hysterectomy in november and will be glad to get rid of discharge im

constantly wearing pads and small tampons, but only now, since the gyn thinks

its degenerating has the discharge turned pinky/red and more heavy, so i want

it out and tested adn have my mind put at rest.

No you are not alone. I have been having a discharge as well. I have just

gotten used to wearing panty liners all day every day. I know it sucks but my

female OBGYN didn't really think it was a big deal. Fortunately, I have you

guys to share with so I know I am not a freak.

Yes It is really a drag...all the time I had a stain of some sort and ruined

some nice panties...RRRrrr! I hate those little panti-liners..but probley

should have worn them..I always felt like I had diapers on with anything

there! I am now post hysterectomy two and a half months (which all has gone

well and now no more discharge or stain!). Good luck in your journey!

To Kettyi: I have had a discharge between periods since March with my

fibroids. But, I am on B/C pills and I am wondering if the discharge could

be from that. It is not bothersome really, but I can even feel it sometimes.

It didn't really bother me so I never asked the dr. Now I am curious?

Beverley - are you being told that your only choice is a hysterectomy? I

recently had a myomectomy performed at the University of Michigan hospital

by Arnold Advincula. He used the DaVinci method that was focused on by the

Good Morning America television program. He removed a 13cm tumor and kept

my uterus intact. I was out of the hospital within 36 hours and back to

work in 3.5 weeks.

Does anyone have questions for a DaVinci method " survivor " ?

Just now that you mention the discharge I have to say that over the past

months I have a discharge which is quite bad. It is a bit yellow and usually

a lot worse overnight. The smell is a bit funny. I was also thinking I have

a yeast infection because I have had this problem often in the past. I will

get checked for the yeast infection but probably is the fibroid.

Can someone elaborate on what sort of colour smell their discharge is?? I

know it is embarrassing but I honestly believe it would help.

Thanks

I also had discharge and wore pantyliners most days, too. I was not on BCPs

(to the person who mentioned those), so for me there was not relation there.

I hadn't thought about it, but since my myo a month ago and my subsequent

period, I have not had the level of discharge that I typically had before.

Another benefit noone told me about?

I believe the fibroids make you have a discharge. I too have had a

daily discharge which I call " stuff " . I have been diagnosed with

fibroids and I believe that is the reason for it. I have been on

birth control pills for 3 months now for the fibroids and just

recently have I seen any sort of relief from the daily discharge

stuff.

Nov. 7th I go to a GYN after being told by a CNP that I have some

quite large fibroids, and that is one of the questions I am going to

ask, but I am sure I already know the answer...yes, they do give you

a discharge.

Hope this helps you. No, you are not alone.

Take care,

Audrey

Make that another....heavy discharge on a constant basis with a prolapsed

fibroid....And I hope it stops when the prolapsed fibroid is removed, as I am

not having ahysterectomy, so the current uterine fibroids are staying in their

" happy home " fornow....From: Donna Pendergast [mailto:

  • 4 weeks later...

Hi.

I'm reviving this old thread about fibroids and discharge because I'm

wondering whether anyone can help with answers to the following:

1. Were you ever able to get rid of this discharge and how?

2. Has anyone noticed a pattern that relates the discharge and

fibroid growth. Ie, does the discharge increase during months when

fibroids have grown? Increase/decrease when they shrink?

My completely unscientific guess is that this discharge is somehow

related to changes in the ph of the uterus -- acid vs. alkaline

state -- which is probably an indicator of growth. Of course, I have

absolutely no basis for this, but I'm wondering if others have

noticed a pattern.

Thank you!

I have been having clear discharge, almost like water. Had it last

year for a while too. My gyn checked it and said there was no

indication of infection, so nothing to worry about. The discharge

resolved itself but now is back. This time it is a heavier discharge.

About three weeks ago my gyn told me that my fibroid has grown. I

don't know if there is a relationship between growth and discharge,

but it is happening again and I am not pleased.
