D before colonoscopy prep!

I opened the capsules into fluid BUT new question - I've had D since

last wed a.m. 1/2 day and crampy until afternoon then ok each day but

doc still says take stool softener as part of prep!!! sounds crazy

right??? any thoughts or experiences???? must start at 2 p.m. today
