I can relate to what you're feeling. Since I started having to deal with a chronic illness I've had times when I just can't deal with yet another doctor or medical test or anyone else for that matter. Everything becomes too overwhelmng to deal with. The thought of doing more research and trying to figure out where to go next becomes too much to handle.

So I take a small vacation from it all. I just focus on eating the SCD way, going to work, and resting. I don't do any research, don't see any doctors -- just give myself a week or two of living just the basics. I live alone, which helps me limit my social activities for a week or so as well. My family and friends are used to me becoming a hermit for a week or two every once in a while....

Usually a week is enough for me -- soon I start becoming interested in research again, and can deal better with people. Sometimes it will take me a month or two before I feel ready to see a doctor again. I must admit that I still haven't found the energy to find a mitochondrial specialist, and it's been a year since I was told that this might be one of my major health issues. I just don't feel ready to cope with a lot more tests. Takes a lot of energy, and energy is something in short supply for me.

So, I understand what you're going through, and suggest you might take a short break from seeing doctors and going through more tests and doing more research. Just do the daily living stuff, and let the medical stuff wait for a week or two. Then focus on one of the issues that is most critical to you and and deal with one thing at a time.

The good thing is that sticking to SCD should also help with the candida issue, so you can let that one slide for a while.

......I am so tired and I feel I have no mental fortitude or emotionalclarity to do things like communicate with fellow human beings.. Finding myself just despondent not even capable of like replying toemails. Let alone other humanly things. This diet though makes me happy. Going to the Green Market makes mehappy. Maybe I should just abandon all of the above and just do thediet? The exhaustion I am experiencing today is like a setback. Ithink it is stress induced from all of this running around.

One thing to keep in mind, Jodi, is that if it is Lyme disease, there'snothing for you to research. It's fairly treatable (except in some advancedstages) and you will feel so much better once you are treated. Hey Presto.I started feeling better the first day I had antibiotics - but then I had had it onlyseveral months, whereas in your case, it might be several years or so. I'dget your doctor to have the results checked by an infectiousdisease specialist that they recommend to be sure you don't have a falsepositive - and it has nothing to do with SCD diet at all. If the antibioticscan't be taken simultaneously, treat that one first. No questions. the C.Diff waited all this time, it can wait another month if you have to. You will feel so much better if you treat the Lyme disease. Your wholeenergy and state of mind will improve drastically. MaraJodi I can relate to what you're feeling.
