Guest guest
hi! White pepper is the same as black pepper, i.e. peppercorns, except the outer part has been removed. Black pepper goes black from reacting with fungus. We avoid peppercorns, it makes both me and my daughter irritated. If we want some spice I get fresh chili pepper and use them instead. Wikipedia has good articles on spices. best wishes Cecilia

I dont care for black so we dont use it, but have seen recipes in scd calling for white pepper and where can you get it? White pepper is the same peppercorn as black petter -- just without the black exterior. I personally find it milder than black pepper. Some people do not tolerate either black or white better. For those, using ground chilies may be an option. I, however, don't care for the chili taste in some of my foods. I order most of my individual spices from www.penzeys.com. You can learn quite a bit about spices from their website. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
