Guest guest
Hi Gisele. By T3, do you mean thyroid therapy? I don't know what WTS means. I take dessicated thyroid tablets, which may or may not be the same as the medication you would get compounded. My normal temperature used to be even lower than yours, at 96.8F, when I was taking 30 mg dessicated thyroid each morning. These days, I take 90 mg each morning. I forget what my temperature averages now, but it's much closer to 98.6 F / 37 C. I take the thyroid tablets in the morning. I tried spreading them out through the day, but I would invariably forget to take them later, so I went back to taking the full dose in the morning. I had to adjust my thyroid dose gradually, then stop increasing it once I started to feel as though I had consumed a lot of caffeine. I'm not sure whether I'm at the correct dose now, because the doctor who increased my doses has been ill and unavailable to discuss fine tuning. Eventually, he will probably help me figure out a way of scheduling the correct dose. The increased thyroid dose seems to have helped my mood. I'm not sure what other effects it has had, as I have made many changes over the last year, not the least of which is being on SCD (30 weeks today). Hope this helps. Ellen in Toronto enginuity4@... But I was just wondering if any listmates out there had ever tried it & what results or reactions ( good or bad ) they experienced...thank you much!! Guest guest
Hi Ellen, thanks for the input :-) WTS stands for 's Temperature Syndrome & it is for people whos thyroid tests come back as normal, but still have symptoms of hypothyroid ...the theory is that people who have experienced severe stress lose the ability to convert t4 into t3, hence the symptoms ... & thats why they use time-release t3 rather than armour thyroid & with most people, it actually cures the problem... some people need (eg:) 3 rounds of the t3, some need a dozen ...but eventually the body reaches & stays at the proper temp without the T3 ...it is possible to have "actual" hypothyroidism plus the WTS, in which case you'd need the armour thyroid forever ( after the t3 therapy) ...but the armour wouldn't correct the actual t4 to t3 conversion issue ...and also, as my thyroid numbers are on the low end of normal, my boss thinks correcting the t3 issue "should" fix both!
