It is easier to use the 400 mcg tablets. Then you take 2 1/2 tablets to get 1 mg.

Guest guest
NOPE! Sorry, there are 1000 mcgs in 1 mg, not 1 gram. Hugs, Jacy ~Nobody can make you feel inferior without your permission. Guest guest
> NOPE! > Sorry, there are 1000 mcgs in 1 mg, not 1 gram. Folic acid is dispensed in micrograms (mcgs) and milligrams (mgs) There are 1000 mcgs in 1 mg and 1000 mgs in 1 gram. The largest dose I know of is 5 mgs per day. If you are supposed to take 1 mg per day, you could take 2 1/2 400mcg tablets. (That is what I take.)
Guest guest
Since 1000 mcg. equal one milligram then if your physician has ordered one milligram then Sharon's calcs are correct. One could use a 400 mcg. preparation and take TWO AND ONE HALF TABLETS TO EQUAL ONE MILLIGRAM. When you see your doctor you should be bringing all of your meds in a freezer bag. Make THEM do the calcs and review the preparations you are using. You can also make their office shop around for the least expensive and available preparations in your area. They do need to be taking responsibility for you drugs and their dosages. You have enough with which to contend. Jane (An RN) PS The only questions which are ever stupid are those which do not get asked !!!!! > >> > I think you are wanting one MILLIGRAM not one GRAM!
