Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his >life?............ i can see where you are coming from, but (and this is a personal response -others may disagree & thats fine) I don't however think this is a call to not look after ourselves. Just as we plan what our families will eat and wear in order to care for them, we surely have to show our bodies some respect and care for them too- for me being overweight was not doing that -nor was it looking after my health, or being reponsible, after all i have 2 small children who need me. Also being overweight did nothing for my state of mind, i feel so much better now, on all sorts of levels What i do agree with is that we shouldn't be obsessing about our appearance or possessions to the exclusion of all else. Angi 3 1/2 stone lighter than in January thanks to the Original Slimmers list!

Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? I`m sure there must be counter-arguments - used by the 'Slimmers for Jesus' movement in the USA which was featured on TV recently. Guest guest
I'd rather not know the counter-arguments, as I took comfort in it. -- > Message: 25 > Date: Mon, 23 Oct 2000 18:02:33 +0100 > > Subject: Re: Ourselves > > > wrote > 6:25-33 which begins:- " Therefore I tell you, do not > worry about > your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will > wear. Guest guest
At last someone to whom this has meant something positive. I had been beginning to wish I had never posted the verse. Guest guest
Also, this would put much of the government out of business as they seem to feel it is their life's ambition to tell exactly what we should and shouldn't eat, how often, etc. And if *I* didn't care what my children ate, they would survive solely on Hula Hoops and choccie biscuits! Guest guest
, Meant to say this is one of my favourite verses - although its not always the easiest to do, of course! I like it because it gives us something to do instead of worry " Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well " . I think that's the important bit! Lots of love >> > > wrote > 6:25-
