Unfortunately may not be completely your imagination. I came across this

shocking (2002) story in our local paper when searching last week for

that article about the complications of fungal infections and Remicade.

I feel so sorry for the mother and son involved and wonder how they are

now. She was trying her best and knew more than doctors gave her credit

for - now they say taking the Remicade and Imuran/6mp concurrently on an

ongoing basis was what caused the reported cases of childhood cancer

early on. She was dealing with much more than just wanting to try SCD

and certainly had all kinds of battles to fight. Just very sad that it

worked out the way it did. One scary part is the Dr. Keljo that was

involved in this story has the reputation as being the top pediatric GI

doctor in Pittsburgh! We started out working with another doctor in the

same practice and found her to be all " gloom and doom " , pushing the

meds. Fortunately my son was old enough to switch to an adult GI, who is

much nicer, and open to our efforts with the holistic MD.
