Guest guest
Betty I haven't had an MRI with contrast, although I've had a number of MRIs. But I have had plenty of tests requiring various types of contrast. Every one of them upset my digestion (and nervous system) for a few days, and usually took me a week to get back on track. The tests are important, so I always took them and just coped with the problems afterwards. About the only thing that I can suggest to help with the after-effects is to switch to the softest, easiest-to-digest foods for your body for a few days to a week. I found it helped. I rested as much as I could afterwards as well. Just made things as easy for my body systems, including my digestion, as I could. I have had a pelvic MRI, but it was without contrast. I was glad I had it as it identified a major problem with my ovarian cysts, and I was rushed into surgery a week later... The tests are important. Hope all goes well with your test. Kim M. If you are drinking a liquid that they give you, that liquid is chock full of SCD-illegals. You can take some white grape juice with you (diluted already) and request that they mix the contrast with it, instead. That's what I did when I had to have contrast for my gall bladder seven years ago. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
