Guest guest
It's common for people with RA to also have another autoimmune disease. I have Sjogren's syndrome, Crohn's and RA. I'm 30 years old. - > > Hi All, > > I wondered if others here have other diseases and conditions as > well? Guest guest
Sometimes it isn't anything you can put your finger on as being related; but I have RA, OA, had colon cancer twice (in remission) and have Osteoporosis and cea. My fingernails look great though! Hi All,I wondered if others here have other diseases and conditions as well? I also have Ulcerative Colitis, which I have had since I was about 16 and Costochondritis, which I have had since I was about 22. I have RA for 2 years and am 35. My UC has been quiet for many years but about 7 years ago I did have precancerous cells in my colon. Right now, my RA is doing pretty well through Humira but I have a bad flare-up of Costo. Guest guest
, I was diagnosed with RA this year after having been diagnosed with Hashimoto's thyroiditis 14 years ago. My daughter was diagnosed with autoimmune Type I diabetes at age 9. She also has autoimmune antibodies to her thyroid, so she also is considered a Hashimoto's disease also. One of my sons has severe ulcerative colitis and at age 18 this year had a permanent ileostomy. Another son has asthma. Our youngest son is allergic to rice, bananas, cottonseed oil, fish, chocolate and some other things (as determined by skin test. Both my mother and an aunt have Hashimoto's thyroiditis. In reality, my daughter with diabetes who is on an insulin pump is in her second year at college with a 4.0 for all semesters. Our son who had the ileostomy is in his freshman year (and he is waiting for grades) We all function and live normal lives, but contend with a fair amount of expense and inconvenience. Eating at our house at the holidays is probably not that much fun for other people either. LOL We may be the " poster family for autoimmune illness " as s- Hopkins called us, but there are lots of things our family never gets, and somehow our kids are pleasant and well adjusted. (This week) LOL Best wishes, Jane - In Rheumatoid Arthritis , " " <catdelouise@c...> wrote: > > Hi All, > > I wondered if others here have other diseases and conditions as > well? The muscles between the ribs go into spasm and clamp down. It only hurts when you breath or your heart beats. The rest of the time you feel fine. If this is what Costochondritis is like, you certainly have my sympathy. Sharon
Guest guest
I was diagnosed with RA in 1999. But in 1978 I had been diagnosed with sarcoidosis. It was completley healed after 1 pregnancy (bc of the increasing of natural cortisone in pregnant women). One of my sons has been diagnosed with auto immune enzymatic damages to pancreas that CAN lead him to diabetes, someday. (He is 12, now) Cecilia
