Eileen, let Marilyn know that the excuse of cleaning her kitchen doesn't work. Her world can accommodate her- I have a gourmet kitchen, great for filming, complete with industrial stove with side grill/griddle attachment, double convection oven, warming drawer, 2 dishwashers and PLENTY on counters and I'm a cheap plane ticket away in Vegas. She can even have a guest room and a convertible to drive. As far as the cookbook goes, my daughter works for a yearbook publisher and is a computer whiz. Feel free to push her! Anything except her getting in her way? Terri

Hi people, I kind of owe you an apology -- I was teasing Marilyn in my earlier posts and did not realize that I was posting to the whole forum -- Oh well, nothing too embarrassing was said.I don't think ya'll know how much Marilyn loves all of you. She is always bragging on you and really celebrates your victories. She shares with everyone every chance she gets.Concerning penicillin -- if you are allergic you really should not eat brie or blue cheese.Concerning the cookbook -- Marilyn is a perfectionist. She keeps improving it and adding to it. "They really need to know this......." Add so it never gets finished but she really is working on it. (PageMaker is not an easy program to self-teach.)Concerning cooking lessons -- The RV would be fun but impractical. We are considering putting lessons on DVD -- What do you think??? Eileen

Terri,

OK, I'm in lust. Your kitchen may not be exactly what I had in mind, but

it comes darn close! I probably wouldn't know what to DO with that much

space! (Although I wouldn't mind giving it a go at figuring it out!)

Yeah, I know about cheap tickets to Las Vegas... I've been out there for

weddings. But, you know, I really think the airline would have a

conniption (and charge major $$$) if I showed up with luggage containing

two Excalibur dehydrators, a Maverick grinder, an Omega 8002 juicer, a

large pizza stone, 4 24-cup muffin pans, and a host of other tools that

are my daily SCD tools. Not, interestingly, a food processor. No room in

my current kitchen.

Obviously, we'd have to drive, which would be 2-3 days each way -- and

NOT during hurricane season, because I won't leave the fur children,

Shadow and Sunny, in danger. So that means accommodating Harry's vacation

schedule.

And the other problem, of course, is that we'd need an audience of people

to taste-test things. And a videographer to shoot the episodes. (See, I

have thought about it....)

Uh, yeah - like it would be a problem to get an audience of volunteers

from this group and the others! And I'm sure Terri has some friends

that would volunteer as well. <vbg>

Marilyn, we can get this done. I can get eaters because I'm sure no one from this group is DYING to taste your cooking....... Big house, lots of room for air mattresses- we could have a slumber party! No worries either- 5 bathrooms! (LOL) Do you have an SCD popcorn recipe? We're 1 to 1.5 miles away from 3 different casinos. One has a buffet where you can have custom food cooked in front of you on the spot ie: fresh green beans cooked however you want, steak, omelets, stir-fry, etc...

Don't we need to walk after eating your cooking? We have a camera and tripod but I'm sure we have a pro in our ranks. Step forward please...

Marilyn, you are welcome ANYTIME. It's a wonderful place to cook. Unlike you, I would rather not cook so we had to make the kitchen pleasant to be in. The house has been for sale for over a year- hence the pictures- so you may want to start planning the trip. On the other hand I could just give you a 14 day notice when we sell (god please!) and you could start driving. Did you notice the ledges above the kitchen? We could do aerial shots too....

As far as equipment goes, I have a large pizza stone- used once- wedding gift 14 years ago. That saves 10 pounds! Or we put it out to the universe-

ANY SOUTHWEST SCDer's HAVE EQUIPMENT THEY CAN BRING?

Very pretty house- totally unpractical now. The house was built when I worked- Realtor in Las Vegas. Market DIES and I get sick. Now I get free drugs because I'm a rich poor person married to a house payment where one in 32 houses sell each month in my area and price range. Anyone need a house?

Terri- great house, no money

SCD 1 month tomorrow

Wow,

It really stinks we are all Crohn's poor from missing work. Sounds

like this house would make for a great Reality show studio. Something

like " Cooking Camp for Crohnies " . We could all chip in and lose our

money on something worthwhile, rather than in the DOW.

And thank you for not calling us "OLD" Crohnies! I can see it now- the winner of the challenges get toilet privileges! At least with a house it's something more than a piece of paper or an account ledger statement- it's a kitchen and a toilet!

Yeah, the market died here too. is also a real estate agent but he had to go back to being a mechanic because he couldn't sell anything. I don't know how the real estate agents here are making it. I wish we could sell our house. Now would be a great time to buy. Everything is cheap and there are a ton of foreclosures but we couldn't get rid of this thing if we tried giving it away.Kim Re: Brie Cheese Sauce (an LSCDL Recipe)
