Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Congratulations on making it so far and on making improvements, Greg. Try spinach puree, zucchini - seeded and peeled, green beans, baked or pureed butternut squash with some butter, salt, pepper, etc. I'd cut out the pecan butter brownies for a while longer, since you are having B and that may be aggravating your still healing gut walls. Are you familiar with this chart for introducing new foods? http://www.pecanbread.com/new/scdfoods1.html#beyond There's also lots of of other helpful info at that website for new(ish)bies. Have you tried soaking in epsom baths? Those really help in allaying some of the internal achiness that the B is symptomatic of. And they are also helpful at detoxifying the body. Good luck going forward, Mara SCD 16 months

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. One month may be a little early for anything with nuts, even with using the nut butter, which is generally easier to tolerate. Are the bananas you are eating fully ripe, ie, no green at the stems, and fully yellow with lots of brown speckles all over them? Carrots and I didn't agree at all until I'd been SCD for over six months. (Some people do just fine with them... I ate a lot of peeled and seeded and steamed zucchini.) Guest guest
I also have a question regarding bananas. I ripened a bunch of bananas for a long time, puttin them in a paper bag. They got VERY ripe with tons of browns spots and were about to go bad. However, there were still a bit green, only at the ends. Does this mean they are no go to eat? (I mashed and froze them in the end.)Thanks, Crohn's: Since July 2005SCD: Since Sept 2008Meds: Nothing yet Re: 1 Month down! Guest guest
Ok so to answer some questions. Mara: I was thinking that the pecan butter brownines might be too good to be true (but they are so scrumptious!!) I think ill try butter nut squash and spinach for my next intros. and yes i am familiar with the pecanbread site. I just thought maybe id try the pecan since it is easiest to digest. Ive also tried the epsom salt bath but wasnt sure if it did anything for me. Ill give it another try this weekend. Marilyn: I am 100% sure the bananas are fully ripe, however, i think i will try to let them get a bit more ripe. Im gonna cut out the carrot for a little while and try some other veggies. Any suggestions on the eggs? As far as the meats, i am mostly grilling them.
