Guest guest
Hello Mara with a brand new cold! This is Terri with new braces- you talk about achy teeth!.... They're the new 6 month kind for adults with titanium memory wire... Anyways, I have no answer to your question but I just wanted to say how impressed I've been with your "in-tune-ness" to your body. I think I just go through life unaware compared to you. I figure you are the analytical personality type and I'm the party thrower/goer personality type but that's no excuse for me being oblivious. So thanks and keep awing me and giving me examples of how much I miss in life. Try to enjoy your cold and read a book! See how I am! I would never be worrying about where the signs of the cold came from, I'd be planning my sickbed party! Terri 7 weeks SCD 2 years UC OT: Cold Does anyone know or can venture a guess why when you get a cold, your teeth (among other things) ache? Oddly, that was the early warning I got about this cold - usually it's some other signal that I can read more easily.Mara, with a brand new cold, in spite of gargling with hydrogen peroxide, and achy teeth.... Guest guest
Hi Mara, If it is just your upper teeth that are achy-it is because of your sinuses, usually. Even if you have some referred pain to the lower jaw it can be sinus in nature. Otherwise, for all of your teeth to be achy ( at the same time) is rare, and could indicate some grinding at night, probably secondary to stress which could be coincidental to or caused by, your rhinovirus. Cold are viruses, and viruses can also get into your joints, specifically your TMJ ( tempero mandibular joint) right before your ears and cause related aches and pains in your teeth. As a practicing dentist for 29 years, that's about the best I can do. Sometimes there are no explanations for all of our aches and pains. Hope you feel better soon! Guest guest
Thanks Terry, That explains it - I guess it's a sinus type sore throat cold. Good to know for future reference. It's useful to have a professional onboard. <g> Mara > > Hi Mara, > > If it is just your upper teeth that are achy-it is because of your > sinuses, usually.
