Guest guest
I use the screen heat diffuser like someone else said, it works great. Just today I forgot the milk and it went to 220 and boiled and didn't burn. I have a gas range. Shoot. I can cross that one off my "want to acquire" list.... I haven't found the cold water trick to be as helpful as you found it, but that's pretty cool that it didn't burn after you left it on high! They come out easily enough with a bit of soaking and a good scrubber, but it's just a bit annoying. <g> For all I know, it could have something to do with the way my husband washes the darn thing. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
Guest guest
Hi Ellen, It's a round screen like device that you put directly on the burner. It looks like the grease non-splatter thing you put on top of the frying pan when you're frying. It's a heavier type screen though. Very cheap, may be able to find it in dollar stores or someplace like Walmart or Target. I've read all the messages on this topic and I can't seem to find it. Thanks, Ellen 11 y/o dd scd since 5/06 for Crohn's. Med-free!
