Guest guest
Anyone have a good way to make liver so that it's not nauseating? Not sure which liver from what animal to use. My Blood counts are good but the iron is -ridiculously- low. Thanks, Jodi SCD 12 months Crohn's/Colitis

Then fry the slices in lots of olive oil, maximum 1 minute each side. The frying pan shouldn't be too hot, the oil should not smoke, so medium heat I guess. An old-fashioned way to add more iron in your diet that works for some is to prepare your food in an iron skillet. Cecilia
Guest guest
marilyn has posted a fantastic recipe for liver pate in the past. Type " liver pate " in the search box and it should com eup. Or, try " liver recipe " . Between the two, you should find something. I HATE liver, but the pate makes it more palatable than any other way I have tried it. usually, I spread 2 TBS on a piece of toasted SCD bread, add a little bit of cheese (like Swiss) and thinly sliced, peeled tomato. it goes down ok and has kept my iron level steady at 12-13. I use organic veal liver, figuring it is the least " loaded " with toxins, but others use chicken livers. Good luck!
