Chinese herbs

Well here is an update for me...I have been on SCD for 3 weeks now andhave definitely seen improvement (now only going 6-9 times with D anda little forming mush), however the weightloss is killing me (wentfrom 165 to 145). I am always hungry but just dont have the money orfood to keep satiating me. Plus i dont want to overfill my intestineswith food. I can do meats, banana and possibly pureed spinach. Havetried avocado and eggs. I am waiting on the yogurt and cheeses forwhen my gut is a little more healed. Any suggestions??? I also amthinking of taking chinese herbal medicine again. Here is a list of possible chinese herbs that would be included in aformula for my UC. If any of you find any issues with these herbsplease let me know. Ive done some research but i would like somefeedback from the group. Thanks.http://alternativehealing.org/bai_shao.htmhttp://alternativehealing.org/mu_xiang.htmhttp://www.rootdown.us/Herbs/HerbDetail.aspx?herbID=335http://alternativehealing.org/huang_lian.htmhttp://www.alternativehealing.org/e_jiao.htmhttp://www.alternativehealing.org/bai_tou_weng.htmhttp://www.alternativehealing.org/huang_bai.htmhttp://www.alternativehealing.org/pu_huang.htmhttp://www.alternativehealing.org/qin_pi.htmGregSCD 9/08UC since 2000

I gained 30 (much needed) pounds on the SCD and I swear it was from eating SCD yogurt made with organic half and half and then topping that with honey and bananas! I also ate a lot of avocados and put coconut oil in everything!Want to do more with Windows Live? Learn “10 hidden secrets” from . Learn Now

Greg - Please be careful about using herbs. For one thing, most of

them are probably not SCD-legal. Several years ago, before I started

SCD, I used a combination of herbs that were prescribed by a Chinese

herbalist (unfortunately, I don't remember which ones) and also tried

reducing my Asacol dose at the same time. My next colonoscopy showed

increased ulceration, so I gave up the herbs and went back to my

regular medication dose.
