Guest guest
Hi, a big THANKS to all of you, who have answered the questionnaire or will do so. Probably the amount of messages has flooded some mail-boxes, those of you who feel overwhelmed by that will notice a significant decrease soon. To those other Meat Loaf fans, he is my second favorite artist and I enjoy his songs when I drive home along the highway. Kim, Peggy, Tina and (hope that's all), thanks for introducing yourself. , you would be save from speed limits here, but policies and narrow-minded people are german specials, so what to do, LOL. Dottie, what a surprise to learn that you were hidden behind that addy. Hope is is doing well. Bye Torsten, dad of Fiona 4wcf e-mail: aberdeen95@... Guest guest
Torsten, what a great idea to have done this, and thank you very much. I had no idea there were so many just lurking and so many newbies (welcome!), please don't be shy, jump in! The nice thing about this list is you have the opportunity to discuss openly and freely about what we, as parents, go through with our wonderful children. We all have good days and bad days, a never ending rollercoaster ride. The only negative thing I found with this survey is now I feel so OLD knowing that I am even older than Torsten really killed me! Well, to all you young parents, enjoy it while you can. I'm off to take care of my 18 yr old son (wocf) with bacterial pneumonia, my 19yr old daughter (wcf) who has informed me that she doesn't have time to go get her pulmunary function tests done today because she wants to go out (she said she would rather die than miss being with her friends tonight), and my exmother-in-law just called to inform me she's coming for a visit to stay with us for the weekend! YIKES!!! What else? , mom of Shantell 19yr wcf, asthma, chronic sinusitis, and a heck of an attitude! Guest guest
Dear Jeri, I just had to respond to your questionnaire as I know where you are coming from about friends and relaitves smoking around your cf child (or anyone for that matter) I have made our home and premises a smoke free zone (I have stickers on our gate and front door) as it is the only place I have total control over Connor not being around smoke. We've told most people we know who smoke, that they can't do so at our house but there are always people who get offended or dont understand. It is hard if we have a BBQ and people think that if they go outside or away from Connor it's alright. But it's not. They dont realise that after having a smoke they are passing on all the chemicals they have just inhaled onto someone else. I've come to the conclussion that if people don't understand why they are not allowed to smoke on our premises then they aren't worth being friends with. It's just a shame that that can't always work with family. You are anything but selfish as you are more concerned with your sons health than other people are of their own. Hope your son is doing well. Kristy, mum to 2 1/2 mwocf, 4mth mwcf, Australia

Guest guest
Honestly, I thought you were at LEAST 50 or so! But then, I really don't think of myself any older than about 25 LOL!! I don't think I've ever really felt old, I grew up with my kids and they have kept me young! I was 17 when I had my first son, way too young! It's obvious that you have done a great deal of research and work to keep your daughter healthy. No, I didn't look at your picture, and I'm ashamed to say that I don't even know how? Was that on the Cystic L? I have looked at a couple of those, but I didn't know your last name. I have a picture of us, too, but not here at work. I'll send it. I do, however, have a picture of my oldest son and my daughter at my wedding last year, I'll attach that! Please do send pictures, I think that would be the next fun thing to do on this list! I enjoy this list so much more than the Cystic L! I have my daughter here at work with me today, she's doing community service for one of her classes and I have a tour of the airport for a group of kids, so I'm thankful to spend the day with her. Plus it keeps her away from her brother with pneumonia. Well, off to work! Have a great day! Guest guest
, really. I found out that Torsten is the same age as my oldest child-- sorry, Torsten--now that generation gap tells you, coupled with the real oldies on both conncoll and USACFA, that we are surviving long enough (only some of us) for us to have a generation gap within the cf community. In fact, I old enough to be the grandmother or greatgrandmother of some of the youngest children! Now, for those who say there has been no progress made, I can only say that when I and many others were children there were not only no enzymes, no pulmozyme, no bronchodiolators, but no antibiotics either. We have six to eight generations of antibiotics. . . . . .and, okay, I'll quit--but it's more than only " two new drugs! " Love and health to all, n Rojas
