Guest guest
AmyR, Wow! That is just wonderful! I hope you can take advantage of as much of that time as possible! Believe me, you'll want it! I just this morning realized that I've managed to milk my maternity leave out from 8 weeks to 10 weeks! And, I still don't think it's long enough! {{{HUGS}}}

Guest guest
AmyR, That is SOOOOOO Great!! You don't know how good you have it! 14 weeks PAID! That is unheard of where I work, I had to use my vacation! The first 3 months are wonderful, you will enjoy it so much, and then if you have the oppurtunity to work part time that would be great too. You might be suprised that you can get along working 3 days a week financially. Best of luck deciding what to do! That is just awesome. Guest guest
Amy R That is totally awesome. Even if you can't take off the additional 12 weeks having 3 months off is great. Pam 32 weeks

Guest guest
Amy, That's great (especially the 2 weeks before birth). I get 12 weeks paid off too so I am excited about staying home for 3 months. Of course I am also considering a career change pretty quickly after the baby gets here in order to cut down on the number of hours I work per week. It does give you peace of mind to know you have that paid time to look forward too!! DanaF 25 weeks
Guest guest
Amy - You are so lucky - who do you work for? I work at a university, and only get 10 weeks off, at 80% pay. I thought that was generous, given that most people get 6 weeks off, but 14 weeks at full pay is fantastic! a
Guest guest
a, I work for SC Wax. It depends on how long you've been here how much you get covered and at what %. I think everyone gets the first 6 wks at full pay, but then depending on years employed, you may only receive 66 2/3% for the next 6...luckily I have been here long enough (8 yrs) that I am fully covered for the whole time period. I feel very fortunate to have this. -AmyR
Guest guest
AmyR, That is great that you will be able to stay home with the little one at least 3 months and than there is plenty of time to see if you and Bob can work it out to stay home longer! You must be so excited, going to HR and talking about taking maternity leave!?! It really is hard to believe!! That is great news though!! Maternity Leave I just met with the HR rep here, and I am so excited that I had to share. For maternity leave, I am able to take 14wks (2 of them before birth)completely paid...and of course if they are going to pay me I am going totake it! That means I will be able to be home with the baby until he/she isat least 3 months old! Then on top of that I can take an additional 12wksof unpaid leave, if I want...that remains to be seen though...don't know ifwe could afford that or not, but it would be wonderful if we can figure away to do it. I thought about maybe getting a part-time weekend job so thatI could make a few bucks but baby would be able to be home with daddy...wewill see, just a thought. THEN, when I return I could return part-time for6 months as long as it is set up in advance...WOW! My mind is just reeling.I would love to be able to take advantage of all this, but I guess it willultimately come down to money Anyway it works out at least I will havethe first 3 months off, which is GREAT!-AmyR
Guest guest
DanaF, I hope that career change works out for you. I've been considering so many things, I don't even know which end is up anymore! I would *really* like to work just part-time, so my mind is just going and going trying to figure out how we can do that. -AmyR 21wk6d
Guest guest
AmyR Wow that is amazing! I would definitely look into working part time for a few weeks if it’s feasible! You will be feeling normal again by the time you go back to work! Janice -----Original Message----- From: Richey, Amy M.
