Should be OK but check the label to make sure McCormack didn't add

anything to prolong shelf life or keep it from clumping (like

cornstarch.)

Most spices are OK on SCD, as long as your body tolerates them, and

you get them as single ingredients and there are no additives to

prolong shelf life.

It helps if the spices are in glass jars, not cans, just for

improvement in flavor.

Of course you'll get better nutmeg flavor if you grind your own.....

I admit I don't buy whole nutmegs and grind them as needed, mainly

because I haven't yet found a nutmeg grater/grinder tool. I have

purchased my spices from Penzeys for years, long before I started

SCD. (no affiliation, just a happy customer) Better quality and thus

better flavor than you can find with McCormack or Spice Island or

other brands in local grocery stores.

Eileen,

Get whole nutmeg (last a while) and a microplaine

And grind yourself. It's super quick and the way to eat it.

Expensive at first but microplaine is great for grating as well!!

Yeah, microplane is invaluable - the best grated parmesan cheese - and it also

great for grating lemon and orange rind.
