Lyssa,

I bet the guys loved hearing about the breasts,(pervs that they are). Do

you have any goals on how much you are gonna gain? Must be scary. I

wish you all the luck.

No I have no clue. I've joined ossg-pregnancy and it seems they don't gain

too much (not on purpose) and the baby takes what it needs. I only gained 6

lbs in 1998 with my 2nd daughter and she weighed 8 lbs but I was much

heavier then. I'm hoping for about 15 lbs but obviously I have no control. I

am however being super good with food and eating healthy and getting my

exercise in so I hope that the weight will be all baby & bits and no extra

mommy fluff.

Welcome aboard Tammy!

As of right now, there are 2 people who are pregnant on this list, so I do

believe it still happens! :) I've also been trying, no luck as yet (almost

2 years post op), but you'll be the first to know (after my husband of

course)!

I didn't go to NWH, but my experience at Lawrence Memorial Hosp., Medford

with Dr. Randall was great. I had great care from both the Dr., and the

staff, no problems at all. My pain was manageable with the help of the

" mighty clicker " , discomfort followed as with any surgery, walking was

tough, but here I am almost 2 years post op, and have NO REGRETS at all.

The pain itself diminishes to the point of where you almost forget it

completely.

I was 28 when I had my surgery, so glad I did it when I did so I can enjoy

the remainder of my life to it's fullest!

Hope this helps just a tad!

Pregnancy

Hello All,

I'm new to this group, so I'm not sure if this question has been

answered. I am pre-op and will be having my surgery in October with

Dr. Thayer. I am 27 years old and am concerned about safe pregnacies

after the surgery. I know it is not safe right after, but has anyone

had a pregnancy like a year following surgery? Any input on this is

greatly appreciated. Thanks!!! (Also any input on what to expect in

the hospital post op is appreciated. I'm very nervous).

Thanks,

Tammy

Thank you Dawn...your input did help!! I am just so nervous...I have

heard of so many possible complications. But I guess we'll see. How

long about before I can expect to return to work? Any idea? I work

basically at a sit down job.

Hi Tammy,

I had my surgery with Dr. Thayer 1/13/00 and I am 7 weeks pregnant. I

believe Dr. Thayer says you have to wait a year after surgery to get

pregnant. As far as what to expect at the hospital, I had the best care

there was at Newton Wellesley Hospital and I just LOVE Dr. Thayer...he is

awesome and he will take great care of you.

Hi Tammy-

I am having my sugery tomorrow morning with Dr. Thayer, their office

offers support group meetings twice a month which are free. However,

they also offer a pre-op group once a month which costs $50, but is

well worth it. The group is lead by the dietician, the psychologist,

there is a patient who is a year post op and a nurse from the floor

comes down to discuss what to expect. I felt it was well worth the

money, and you were able to meet people close to their surgery dates,

who have some of the same questions you will have, and some you

didn't think of. I have noticed a lot of people ask questions here

that they must feel uncomfortable asking the dctor, and this list is

a great resource. However, feel free to ask Dr. Thayer, he is

wonderful and always willing to listen, don't let the hectic outer

office make you uncomfortable, he wants to help in any way he can,

and remove any doubt you might have.

Good Luck and ask away, there is always someone here with advice!

Thanks...that's what I wanted to know...I had originally been

Thought I'd say hello on this one :)

I am 2 yrs post op (6/22/99) with Dr. Thayer (great man!) and I am

now in my 11th week of pregnancy. So far all going well. In fact I

got to hear the baby's heartbeat today which was exciting :)
