colds, coughs and sniffles and your immune system

Do coughs and colds tend to affect peoples bowel symptoms? I believe

that this is probably true as IBD (actually I can only speak from my

knowledge of UC) is generally believed to be caused/exacerbated by an

over-active immnune system and the symptoms of coughs/colds are created

by your body's immune system responding to the attack from the bugs.

Makes sense, doesn't it?
