Guest guest
Hello Welcome to the group. I am so sorry that you have to be here. I too am a new member I was lucy to find this group in July. Let me tell you that you are NOT CRAZY the pain is real. It is so disturbing when doctors do not take our pain seriously. I let my doctors get away with it for months until I found this group. Having to deal with as is enough, we should not have to deal with pain that is not taken seriously too. I feel why should I have to deal with the pain without the JOYS of a period. I have learned so much from this group. I could not wait to tell my ob that he was not qualified to do a hysteroscopy on me. He double blinked and asked if I hate him. I said YES. He said he was sorry and acknowledged that it was his fault. He is such a nice man but he made a mistake that may cause me my fertility. Now I am seeing an A list dr (Dr. Palter) I live in New York. From what I have read it is important to get a doctor that has treated many as cases which equals an A list dr. I have also learned that there is hope several women have regained their period and have gone on to have children. I wish you the very best of luck, Audrey > Hi I am a new member and trying to find out as much about Ashermans > as possible. I went to the web-site today and was suprised when I > read everyones stories. Guest guest
, I am a relatively new member too. My only advice is to be patient and do research on your doctor before rushing into the surgery. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough patience and had surgery 3 weeks ago. My doctor was fairly knowledgeable but only treats about 1-2 cases of AS per year. My uterus was peforated during the process (which can happen) but I do not feel great about the surgery. I am sending this note, not to scare you, but to encourage you to find the best doctor possible as I have learned from this group that the key to overcoming AS is to get the best doctor possible and appropriate based on serverity of your case. I am in Texas so I can't offer advice on which doctor to choose in CA but I do know there are some on the A-list in CA. Actually, I was just asking my husband how he would like to take a vacation to CA so I could have surgery! He is supportive and said "whatever you think is best"! Best wishes, Kim C. THere is a list (in the database -- look to the left of your screen) that has " A " list doctors and I think that there is one in the LA area that many people in this group recommend. Guest guest
, Thank you. I have made an appointment today with one of the A-list doctors (Dr. March) for November 13th. I am so nervous. I am so fearful that I will never be able to have children. ----Original Message Follows---- Reply-To: Ashermans To: Ashermans Subject: Re: New Member Date: Tue, 22 Oct 2002 00:20:30 -0000 , welcome. Guest guest
, Welcome to the group. I am happy to see that you are going to see Dr. March and hope that your AS is not as bad since it is hard to tell with a HSG. The waiting for that appointment is so hard. I think you will feel better when you see Dr. March and have a treatment plan. When I had my HSG and saw how bad my scarring was, I started to cry and wanted to just run out of that clinic screaming. After having a consult with Dr Olive (A list) I feel much better. You are not alone and it helps to vent to people who understand. I wish you lots of luck! Guest guest
, Welcome to the group. You seem like you have a lot more knowledge on this subject than many of us did when we first joined. I see you have had a hysterscopy and are waiting for the final HSG to see your results. Really you need to wait until you have your final HSG to determine what you should do next because there are so many options depending on what your uterus looks like after the hormone treatment, etc. Many women have mild scarring and adhesions and never even know it until they attempt to become pregnant and can't or they have miscarriages. Every case is different and it is extremely difficult to advise someone based on the info you have given. If you still have scar tissue, there is a possibility that you could carry a pregnancy to term without any major complications, but there is also a possibility that you could miscarry, preterm labor, or bleeding while pregnant, etc. I hope you find many answers to your questions and most of the group will try to give you their opinions on your case. I wish you the best of luck in your search. nancy w

Guest guest
, Welcome to our group. We have a few members in the group that don't know from where they got their ashermans, so you are not alone. As you got pregnant at a very early age, you may not remember how your periods were before getting pregnant. I was just thinking if any scarring was caused at the birth of your son. Do you know if your periods were lighter after that? You are lucky in that your scarring is just above the cervix. This is probably not going to cause you much problems if any in getting pregnant. Even though your doctor never mentioned Ashermans syndrome, intrauterine synechiae is another word for it so basically you probably do have it, but just a milder form. Hope your hysteroscopy results are good and that you are free of scarring. I think you already said that your HSG showed you are clear of scarring in your uterus. Do you know what your endometrium measurement is? This will help you understand how thick your lining is. Also, what are your periods like? Are they as before Ashermans?? Please ask the group any questions. We are all here for you. Poly P.s - keep us informed on what your doctor tell you at your next appt.
