Guest guest
Sherrie, I find mornings hard, especially when I have to get up early. I am a bit better after I have had MTX shot and get worse just before. I find it hard to pace myself as well but sometimes I am forced into not doing anything because I have overdone it (such as when I went out a poop-scooped the frozen and snowy yard last week - couldn't use my hands for two days afterwards). I find that a need a nap most days (and I am only 35) and don't know if it is the Meds, the fatigue or just the ever present hurting. Guest guest
Hi, I just joined the group over the weekend. Have had RA for 13 years. Started when I was 32. I also take MTX but once a week. It has helped alot! I find that my body does better if I take a hot bath in the morning to loosen up. A few months ago I started going to the gym and walking 1-2 miles. It was VERY hard to do in the beginning, but if I stick to it, I find that I feel better. Sometimes I need to take 2 hot baths a day...working on getting a hottub! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Maggie http://www.4HockeyFans.com http://www.4FloridaHockey.com -----Original Message-----From: [mailto:wolfpak4@...]Sent: Monday, February 07, 2005 12:19 PMRheumatoid Arthritis Subject: Re: energy & faitige Sherrie, I find mornings hard, especially when I have to get up early. Guest guest
Sorry I can't help you on that one. That's I feel in the mornings too. I have started taking my shower at night because it relaxes me before bed and I so dread taking a shower in the mornings lately. Guest guest
I'm having a flare right now, and I tire very easily compared to a few weeks ago. I had a horse show yesterday. I spent all day Saturday clipping, bathing, cleaning tack, etc from 9 am to 6 pm. Came home and crashed and burned in the recliner. Got up at 4 am, loaded everything, including horses and 3 kids and got to the showgrounds at 7:30. We were done by noon, and I was DONE IN by 2pm. Complicated by the fact that Sunday is the day I take my MTX so I was low on meds to boot. I feel like I was run over by a truck today. I have the " wiped out " feeling I always get from the MTX plus being wiped out physically as well. To boot, a friend called at 7am to ask me to come fix her computer because it wouldn't boot and she works at home on the internet and needed to " get to work. " I dragged myself up and out and removed 91 viruses (no exaggeration) from her computer. Well, it wasn't 91 DIFFERENT viruses, but multiple infections from several different viruses. I feel better for having got up and done something, though. I've found the one thing that gives me more energy when I am so tired I can't get moving, is exercise. I go out and walk. When I get my heartrate up a bit, I feel much better. If you can't walk, try doing sitting exercises, or whatever you can to get your heartrate up a bit. It creates a natural adrenalin that helps to jump start you in the morning. Sharon

If you can get your heart and respiration up a bit, it releases adrenalin and gives you a boost of energy. Sharon
