Guest guest
Hi Marilyn Never knew that the yogourmet had a little dairy in it. Where do you get the one you use? And does that have any dairy in it?. Thanks Suzanne Re: Cooking questionsTo: BTVC-SCD > At 09:07 PM 10/6/2008, you wrote:> >Wow that is a lot of work but sounds really good > >I have never tasted almond yogurt ...does it > >taste a lot like almonds? Guest guest
Just a word of caution...I just made some almond yogurt. The texture is nice and thick but it tastes just like dough. If you like raw dough then you'll like it. It also feels like you ate dough about an hour after... Just thought I'd let you know as almonds are so expensive...you might not want to waste them. I use the Yogourmet... but I'm not dairy-free. <g> I joke about being immune to vampire attack because I use liquid cheese instead of blood to carry oxygen to my cells! The yogurt starter from GIPro Health can be tough to get as they regularly run out -- but it's certified dairy free. Custom Probiotics has a yogurt starter which is said to be dairy free, but the owner of CP has not provided any documentation to prove it. Moreover, the owner has a history of encouraging SCDers to use probiotics which were not approved by Elaine, and which have caused relapses in many cases. There may be other dairy-free yogurt starters out there, but you also have to watch out that they do not contain illegal strains. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
