That's the one I use and I take a generous tablespoon per day. Don't know if it's legal though. I also take the Nutri-West co-factors which is supposed to improve its absorption. Guest guest
I also use this same CLO. Don't know if it's legal or not, to be honest. I am a bit lenient on my SCD diet because I don't have any of the symptoms I read about, just blocked intestine every 10 months. This Cod Liver Oil I believe the benefit far-outweighs the risk for myself. <DF in MA> -- What do you take to encourage absorption?? I haven't heard of that. Would get it if its cheap and helpful. Yes, Carlson's is legal -- they use just the lemon oil to flavor with. I started with the full teaspoon and did well, but then, I have a fairly high tolerance for oils. SO probably starting with one-quarter of the standard dose and working up would be a good idea. I'm about ready to switch to the CLO for the winter due to it's vitamin D content. > <DF in MA> -- What do you take to encourage absorption? I haven't > heard of that. Would get it if its cheap and helpful. Start here: http://www.nutriwest.com/products/products.htm and look for Complete Omega-3 Co-Factors (Adult formula). I don't know if it's available through regular retail channels but any health care provider can get it. I get mine through my chiropractor and I don't know the price offhand. I also take Nutri-West's Total Leaky Gut and one of the Total Enzymes (forget which one). I had been using a probiotic as well (first Mercola's, now NW's) but I've put that on hold thinking it may not assist things as the SCD takes affect. I'll may start the probiotic again down the road. Guest guest
I also take Nutri-West's Total Leaky Gut This product is not SCD legal. According to " Total Leaky Gut provides a comprehensive array of nutrients to support the integrity of the intestinal lining, one of the most crucial assets to health we have. Ingredients: Each Capsule Supplies: L-Glutamine 150mg Vitamin C (Sago) 25mg N-Acetyl Glucosamine 75mg Vitamin E Succinate 10 i.u. Lipoic Acid (50% R form and 50% S form) 2mg Ginkgo Biloba Extract (bark) 2mg Deglycyrrhizinated Licorice (root) 50mg Slippery Elm (bark) 100mg Lactobacillus Acidophilus 1 million units Cats Claw (bark)15mg Ginkgo Biloba (herb) 50mg Jerusalem Artichoke 25mg Zinc (as chelate) 500mcg Lactobacillus Bifidus 1 million units Recommended Use: Adults: 1 to 2 tablets 3 times daily. Warning: Ginkgo in large quantities is contraindicated with anticoagulant drugs (only a small amount is used in this synergistic formula). Use caution in pregnancy (a small amount of cats claw is included). " GInko biloba bark (in fact, no bark) is SCD legal. DGL is not legal. Slippery Elm Bark produces mucilage, which feeds the bad bacteria. Cats Claw is probably not legal (will do some additional research when I return from the doctor.) Jerusalem artichoke is not legal. Plus, it contains Bifidus, which is emphatically not SCD legal, and has been responsible for many flares. Please discontinue this product at once. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund

Marilyn, thanks for the analysis. I know I've been dilenquent doing some research and the lesson learned is any concoction -- food, suppliment or what-have-you -- is suspect.
