Guest guest
Hi , I want to take a guess at this one and say he might have a bit of a stomach bug. I never heard of vomiting from regular food with UC. I do remember reading about one form of Pepto Bismol,(if someone else could fill in the missing info)being allowed. That might calm his stomach down. All The Best, Lou UC 11 Years My son decided to secretly try a piece of pepperoni pizza with friendsthe night before last and a little cereal last night and is nowfeeling the results. I have heard talk of charcoal and also somethingcalled Gluten Ease, which I probably can't get quickly, but amwondering what all you experts would suggest we try in order to helprelieve his symptoms this morning. I think he's learned his lesson...Thanks,14 yo son w. UC, diagnosed 2005SCD 2007 New MapQuest Local shows what's happening at your destination. Dining, Movies, Events, News more. Try it out! Guest guest
I deal with chronic nausea and occasional vomiting because of my upper GI disorders. I haven't found any quick solution, I just have to wait it out. I keep a supply of Phenergan on hand, but since it's prescription, that won't help your son as a quick fix [grin]. I do switch to eating soft foods for a day or two, and if my symptoms are really severe, I switch to clear liquids for a day than introduce soft but solid foods the next day and then go back to my usual foods a day or two after the soft foods. All depending on my symptoms. If your son is still vomiting, he might have food poisoning instead of eating something too rich or too fibrous for his system. Regardless of the cause, it helps to stay hydrated, and to drink an electrolyte drink as well. Naturally if he gets worse, or the vomiting doesn't stop, visit the ER or his/your doctor. Could also be a reaction to a medication. Kim M.
