Guest guest
Hormones can play havoc with RA and FMS. Sometimes for the good and sometimes not. Hopefully, it will be an uneventfully pregnancy for flares. Guest guest
I have no experience with this myself, but I was speaking to a woman who had the bed next to me during my hospital stay recently... she was in for a knee replacement and her daughter also has RA. The daughter apparently was in a wheelchair at one point, but she went cold-turkey on a lot of her medications because she wanted badly to have a baby and was willing to endure the pain of doing without a DMARD. It transpired that after she became pregnant her RA went into complete remission and stayed that way even after the baby was delivered. She's a lawyer now. Her doctors don't know if it was a coincidence, but I'm thinking not. I only wish we were able to understand why it happens. Jenni PS: Off topic, but if anyone loves dogs and has a free moment, please go to http://www.jeanesholistics.com/PhotoContest.html And vote for Scarlett, the Yorkie driving the truck. Er, trying to... she can't quite reach the pedals. Out of hundreds of votes she's only losing by 5 and I'll be really upset if 5 lousy votes stop us! You don't have to register for anything or type in anything. Just go to the bottom of the page, click on Scarlett's bubble and submit your vote. It takes about ten seconds. Guest guest
Hi! Just wanted to chime in on my pregnancy experience with RA.... I have two children, one 4 year old and one 1 1/2 year old...My first pregnancy, I was in complete remission, not one drug needed the entire time....Second pregnancy, not one day of relief...had to take prednisone the entire pregnancy and even had to have my left ankle casted the last two months to help immobilize the ankle to cope. I do know someone that has 3 children and severe RA and went into remission for all three. Anyway, just happy to see ongoing studies and more research being done. --- In Rheumatoid Arthritis , Jenni <chaospearl@o...> wrote: > > I have no experience with this myself, but I was speaking to a woman who had > the bed next to me during my hospital stay recently... she was in for a > knee replacement and her daughter also has RA.
