Guest guest
Well guys, I just got off the phone with Bridget. I think it is safe to say that she sounds very tired and weak. She is less than 24 hours post op and has had some adjustments to her pain medications and so that aspect is more manageble. She has been up and walking but says that didn't help her feel better. Bridget said to tell everyone, " I am very unhappy and sorry I did this!!! The gas pain is terrible and there is so much swelling! " She asks for prayers and just seems upset and sad. There is really no amount of knowledge that can prepare you for how you might react to surgery and right now Bridget is miserable about it. But the good news is that it is all over and will only get better (and even if it takes time, she is switched!!!!!!!!!) Her friend Tina is so supportive and that is going to be Bridget's biggest help. Tina is upbeat and encouraging; she will be staying with Bridget all night. Bridget's Upper GI test today shows that there might be a stricture at the intestinal anastamosis which may have to be reoperated on tomorrow but because there is so much swelling this will be reevaluated and God willing this will not be a problem. Bridget is partaking of ice chips only right now and can't think of much else. I will call her again and report back. But for now, I'd have to say that it all sounds like she is doing as well as can be expected and look positively to another day. Guest guest
Gee Frannie, Even though it wasn't a 'positive' post, thanks for posting. We all hope Bridget will feel a lot better soon. Seems to me I remember quite a few post-ops saying if they'd been asked a few days after the operation they might have said they regretted it, but once further out they know they made the correct decision. Hope this happens for Bridget, and soon! Judith in Seattle ANGEL REPORT DAY#1 POST OP > Well guys, I just got off the phone with Bridget.
