Isn't white vinegar made from grain, grain vinegar? Can you clarify this for me ladies? Thanks

Thanks, Mara. I will try to guesstimate an appropriate concentration of white vinegar in water to keep the fresh berries mold-free. This would really help me.

I think so, but it is distilled. when in doubt check wikipedia:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vinegar#WhiteWhiteWhite vinegar can be made by oxidizing a distilled alcohol. Alternatively, it may be nothing more than a solution ofacetic acid and salt in water. They are made from grain (often maize) and water.White vinegar is used for culinary as well as cleaning purposes because vinegar also can be used for sterilization. White vinegar also is used in some cases to kill Athlete's foot. Isn't white vinegar made from grain, grain vinegar? Can you clarify this for me ladies? Hey Mara...thank you for the reply...yeh Wikipedia is an awesome resource, wish I had a penny for each search of various info!...I guess I should have better asked why is it legal if it is made from grain? Does the distillation process somehow render it OK? I may have forgotton this SCD pearl of wisdom...MK
