Guest guest
OK, so I don't have human kids. Shadow and Sunny are now ten, which is a fair number of dog years. However, I've felt like a teenager's parent several times the last few days. My Great Galoot, aka Shadow, likes to sit in the front window, to the left of my computer desk. The typing el to my left holds more things than I want to think about, including the telephone. Normally, the Galoot is very careful about stomping on stuff. The last few days, though, he's managed to wrap himself up in the phone cord and pull the phone off the desk not once, but multiple times. Then he sits on it. And here I am, trying to extract the phone out from under 30 pounds of long-haired dachshund, and sounding EXACTLY like a teenager's parent: " Shadow, get off the phone! Shadow, get OFF the PHONE! Shadow, d@mmit, get off the phone, NOW! " <sigh> Fur children. At least human children theoretically grow up some day.... — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
