All,

This is a really important point that Harold is making. We

share the same illness but it is not the same in each of us. Not only

the manifestation of disease is different, but each person has a

different human response to disease.

The practice of medicine is based on scientific principles, but

it remains the art of treating the human responses to disease, not

simply treating the disease itself.

Jane

> Chrisina, some people with cancer respond to treatment and others

die of the cancer. It's not as severe with RA but the analogy serves

to show that all diseases are not the same or not all people respond

to a treatment in the same way. Maybe your coworker is guilty of

harassment and needs to be reported to Human Resources. God bless.
